Gundalakona | Sri Gundala Neelakanteshwara Swamy | Y.Kota | Seshachalam hills | Waterfalls

The waterfalls at Gundalakona was swishing over the rocks joyfully, thundering down into the pool like a gigantic waterspout. One could see a gaggle of geese grazing by the bank and the scene was picture perfect. The lushness greenery of the hills can be seen from bottom to top at the footstep of the hill.
Gundalakona, Lord Sri Gundala Neelakanteshwara Swamy, this place is situated in the Seshachalam hills range (Hill ranges in the Eastern Ghats of the south of Andhra Pradesh) near Railway Kodur of Kadapa district. This place is located 20 km from Railway kodur towards North-west in the Seshachalam hills range. During Shivaratri festival and Kartheeka Masam, Monday’s large number of devotees are visiting this temple.
In this temple shrine of Sri Gundala Neelakanteshwara Swamy, the Sanctum Sanctorum was established by Brahmarshi Viswamithra. When someone enters in this temple, the mind will be very pleasant here due to Huge Trees, mountains and continuous flows of water near the temple. Many medicinal herbs are available in this area and plants like Neem, Amla, Mareydu, Kondu mamidi, Nella vema, jaajikaaya (Telugu names) etc., very found here.

Chadunu Gundam, Boodida Gundam, Samaradhan Gundam, Akkadevathala Gundam, Pasupu Gundam, Ginna Gundam and Saanna Gundam. The devotees taking dipping here in these Gundam to wash their sins.
During Shivarathri festivals, APSRTC is running buses from Railway Kodur to Gundalakona. Many people will go in Mahindra Jeep and Tata sumo because the trails are not too good. Even some people go by walk to reach the Gundalakona.
How to reach
One can get to Tirupathi International Airport by flight and can hire a Taxi to Railway Kodur which is 48 km by road and then head towards Y.Kota to reach Gundalakona. The nearest railway station is Railway Kodur and Obulavaripalle. Bus inquiry can get from here. 
Note: If you are planning to go Gundalakona you need to get permission from Forest officials of Rajampet or Railway Kodur range in prior.
