Bhuvanagiri gutta (Bhuvanagiripalle) is a hilltop located very close to Rajampet town, hardly it is around 8 km from the town. Lord Lakshmi narasimha swamy will be seen in this famous area. Every Saturday special poojas are doing here for the Lord Narasimha swamy.
The history behind the temple construction is, more than 300 years ago a saint saw the footprints of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha swamy under the neem tree, and the saint used to offer prayers daily to the footprints and the saint told to nearby villagers to pray to the footprint of Lord Narasimha to fulfill their desires. Eventually, it has spread in and around and the temple got the good recognition from the devotees, whoever prays here their desires are getting full filled.
In the month of May (particularly in summer season) annual Bramhosthavas are also going in a grand manner under the temple trust. The nearby villages such a Uttukur and Bhuvanagiripalle people are very commonly visiting the temple by trekking the hill. Another most important are temple priests performs special abhishekam and archana on Vaisakha suddha pournimaa and also Garudaseva on that date. Temple authorities and trustees organizes aanadhanam on the bramhostavam days.
How to reach:
By Air: Reach to Kadapa airport, (where flights are flying from Hyderabad, Tirupathi, Vijayawada, and Bengaluru) from there you can hire a taxi to reach Bhuvanagiri palle via Rajampet. It is around 65 km from Kadapa Airport (Cuddapah)
By Rail: The nearest railway station to Bhuvanagiri gutta is Rajampet (RZP – station code) from there you can hire an auto-rickshaw and climb directly to Bhuvanagiri hill (auto fare as of May 2017 is 100 INR to the base of the hill, if auto-rickshaw goes to the top they will charge 200 INR). From Rajampet railway station Bhuvanagiri palle is hardly 10 km.
By Road: From Kadapa, you can take the route via bhakarapet, vontimitta, nandalur and rajamepet. Further head towards Tirupathi, you can see an arch naming as Bhuvanagiri gutta Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple. Enter into the arch you can see a direct road to hilltop). The hill can be climbed/trekked from Uttukur village also.
Note: There are no direct buses to this places, nearest APSRTC bus stand in Rajampet only. If you are directly climbing hill-top with a four-wheeler make sure you should be expert in driving. Bus inquiry can get from here.
