Bramhamgarimatam - Sri Pothuluru Veerabrahmendra Swamy

Bramhamgarimatam is one of the famous pilgrim centre in Kadapa district, this place shortly called as B.Matam. The temple is constructed in the village Kandimallyapalle of B.Matam Mandal where veerabrahmendra swamy attained Sajeeva Samaadhi.

Places to Visit near B.Matam:
Apart from the veerabrahmamgari temple, there is another temple of Jaganmatha eshwari devi also. There is also brahmam gari house where he lived and wrote kalagnanam also. In this house there is a well which contains pure water digged during swamy stay. Polieramma temple is also famous at this site. There is one book written by Dr. V.V.L. Narashimha rao which title “Swamy sree veera brahmendra” which gives full details regarding the history of the Brahmam garu. There is Navaratna mandapam also which constitutes nine god’s at one place (while i am writing this blog the temple is not opened).  

    




Other than temples there is a reservoir which names on the lord, Brahmamsagar reservoir (Dam) one of the biggerst dams in the kadapa district. This foundation was laid in 1983 by former cheif minister of andhrapradesh N.T. Rama rao  and completed in 2006. This dam serves 40,000 acres of land and drinking water in Kasinayana, Porumamilla and Brahmamgari Matham mandals in Badvel constituency and a separate pipeline is laid to Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant for the water resource. 


Andhra Pradesh tourism department is running a boat ride for a short distance at the dam. At the end of the dam Raod and Buildings department is having a beautiful guest house. One side of the dam is surrounded by the park and had a decent environment with a view of water in the dam. On the overall dam is having good recreation environment with parks and boat rides. Before stepping into B.matam on the mydukur route there is a big statue of veerabrahmam swamy with a height of 25 feet. 



During the month of April and may, Brahmamgari araadhana festival will be held where the giant chariot is decorated and large number of devotees will participate in the event. During the festival lot of free food and water services are also arranged by devotees near the temple.


How to go:
From Kadapa - Mydukur - Vanipenta - Brahmamgarimatam, the distance is approximately 66 kilometers.
From Kadapa - Badvel - Nandipalle - Brahmamgarimatam, the distance is approximately 90 kilometers.
The nearest places towns to B.matam are Badvel on east, Mydukur on south-west and poorumamilla on north.
From Badvel - B.matam is approximately 32kms, from Mydukur - B.matam is approximately 35 kms.
APSRTC buses are running frequently for every one hour from Mydukur and Badvel bus depots. Even from the Poorumamilla also buses are running daily on the specified time but not frequently, that can be checked with poorumamilla APSRTC bus stand. Bus inquiry can get from here.



The nearest major railway station is Cuddapah (Kadapa) which is 66 kilometers and minor railway stations are Kamalapuram railway station which is 55 kilometers, Giddalur railway station which is 75 kilometers. The nearest airport is Renigunta airport which is 200 kilometers approximately.
