Annamacharya | Tallapaka Village | Andhra Pada kavita Pitamaha | Indian Musician composed songs on Lord Venkateswara

Tallapaka Annamacharya, (shorlty called as Annamaya) he is popularly now as  Andhra Pada kavita Pitamaha (god father of telugu song-writing) annamacharyullu. Born on May 22, 1408, a village Tallapaka near to Rajampet town of Kadapa district.

Annamacharya had a vision of Lord Venkateswara when he was at 16 and then spent the rest of his life composing Kirtanas and Padams on him, which totalled 32,000. Of these only 14,000 are available now engraved on copper plates which were hidden for centuries in a niche of Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala.

He developed a great love for music and devotional compositions. He surprised many with his ability to sing very complicated songs and even composed some of his own songs on Lord Venkateswara. He was able to comprehend and talk about profound philosophies. In other words, the boy was maturing gracefully to take up the divine task that was to be the sole purpose of his life.

In the born city of Annamaya, there is a 108 feet statue with a greenary park on the Tirupathi - Kadapa Highway.

In his birthplace there is a temple for the lord Chennakesava Swamy also, one Kalyana mandapam is also there.

From the Tallapaka place there is a road to Athirala temple ( Shiva temple) which was famous during Shivarathri Festival.
